"St. Walker" is one of my favorite songs from Young the Giant's first album. It's sultry guitar and moody vocals balance the catchy beat. A small tidbit, I like how their use of St. Walker = Street Walker...or am I just crazy by inferring this? Regardless, take a listen and tell me this doesn't pull at your heartstrings. I DARE YOU. Sidenote, I like how it is embedded amongst some of their more catchy songs. Speaking of which, check out "Garands" and "Islands" why dontcha?
Young the Giant debuted their new single, "It's About Time", as part of their new album, Mind over Matter, set to be released this upcoming January. I cannot be more excited to hear the rest of the album after listening to "It's About Time". Lead singer Sameer Gadhia's emotive crooning, juxtaposed with the rocky guitar and drums, again juxtaposed with the almost electro-pop feel provides for a compelling listening experience. I would categorize this song as the love child of Foo Fighters's and Arctic Monkeys's rock-y musicality, and Young the Giant's charismatic vocals. I have fallen in love with the song's dynamics--the vocal developments, the tumultuous and racing melody, and the soulful passion of each instrumental part. The video is totally fantastic as well. Check them out for an exciting taste of what's to come in the next few months!
While we're talking about it, Young the Giant has announced their Mind over Matter tour! They are coming to St. Louis! After listening to the teaser, I cannot wait to see what else they have produced. I anticipate attending this concert, especially since I love this first single from the album. Thus, it is imperative that all of you should LISTEN TO THIS SINGLE AND COME WITH ME TO THEIR CONCERT. Because I predict that it will be incredible and epic.
Fueled by Ramen's video of "Its About Time" by Young the Giant.
Again, watch the video. I'm in love with it.
