It's been quite the frigid winter, hasn't it? There was nothing more I wanted to do than to curl up in my little bed crevice, candles lit, with some good...asian dramas...

Lo-fang - #88
How great is this guy's voice?! It's so mellow and smooth, but don't let it lull you into complacency. Lead singer Matt Hemerlein impresses me, and many others, with his classical training and proficiency in six different instruments. Despite this, it is still his voice that hooks me -- I can't help but be captivated by that lyrical crooning. I naturally enjoy how he also creates intriguing musical compositions through his instrumental utilization and unique vocals, and think that he is definitely worth the listen on quiet, wintry nights.
That five o'clock shadow ain't too bad, either.
Radical Face - Welcome Home
Radical Face has been around for quite some time now, and my love for them has remained just as long. Something about his sweeping lyrical voice and whimsical backgrounds -- those wind chimes in particular-- that just make me feel so comforted and happy. I've come to realize that artist vocals really make songs for me, this song being a prime example. The pairing of Cooper's scratchy, near-whisper voice with somewhat twangy lilts is casually perfect.
On an On - Ghosts
How can this song be so perfect? The rhythms are so mellow, and would normally be too consistent for me...but somehow I am just so hooked. Their ethereal vocals, the ghostly musicality, the potent lyrics, their magical harmonies...I just love it all.
I think this acoustic version is my favorite because it captures a lot more of the emotions and harmonies. That being said, their recorded and live-recorded versions are fantastic as well, so please check out their other videos if you're digging this as much as I am.
I so badly want to do this song justice here, but I just don't even know how to verbalize why I am so obsessed. I hope you listen to understand my adoration.
