I'm sure Rahee can attest, but it's been a hell of a few months. Rahee and I are in the midst of completing our final semester in college!!! I actually just completed my LAST. DAY. OF. COLLEGE. How crazy and surreal is that...
Let me fill you in on what has gone on with me personally the past few months:
- Class insanity to the MAX
- SXSW
- Panic attacks about graduation
- Concussion (wtf)
- Reminiscing about the wild last four years
Spring has sprung (finally!) here at WashU! <3
But let's just get right back into the aural pleasure! In no particular chronological or preferential order...Seriously, cannot handle...they were all so incredible.

Oberhofer - SXSW
Speak - SXSW
Fun fact, all the band members look like CHILDREN in real life! It is rather disorienting, actually. But they are so talented!
Young the Giant - StL
One of our older posts features YTG! Check it outttt. It is definitely a different experience listening to them from studio performances versus real-life live (adurr). Can't even begin to say how impressive they were live. Such stage presence. Wow.
From Indian Lakes - SXSW
Matt (refer to photo below) and I were front row. I almost stroked his hair. I refrained.
Local Natives - StL
Repeat band notice--check our older post on Local Natives (in the New Year one)! Video here is mildly subpar quality (the best live one I could find though!), but seriously. SERIOUSLY. So. Good. Oh. My. God.
Also: 'STACHE. Killin' it. Harmonies. KILLIN' IT. So impressed.
Joywave - SXSW
Discovered Joywave on a whim...to be quite honest, Matt and I were going to go see Little Dragon...but I switched the days up. Point is, this was probably the greatest discovery to come out of my mistake.
See below: combined remix (this is kind of cheating...sorries)
RAC - SXSW
RAC - SXSW
HAHA. So...technically, I didn't see them at the venue. I saw them from outside the venue's fence :p BUT the view was fantastic, and the music was worth it. There was actually a group of people chilling outside, frolicking and dancing.
Vance Joy - StL
Technically, I didn't see him (sense a pattern?). He opened for Young The Giant, but...I missed him. Definitely regretting that, since I'm obsessed.
Kishi Bashi - SXSW
Repeat artist! Again, check out my previous post on Kishi Bashi! Shout-out to Kishi Bashi for still being keeper of my heart. But seriously. ALL-CAPS CANNOT EXPRESS HOW MUCH I LOVE HIM. In fact, I love him so much that I will see him again in StL this upcoming summer. Ah. AH. AHHHH. I can't contain my excitement....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHH.
Mother Falcon - SXSW
Alright, so...another repeat artist. I can't help it, okay??? Check previous post!
This band is SERIOUSLY rocking it. Watching them makes me want to be in a band, no lie.
Stop Light Observations - SXSW
AHAHA this video is not from SXSW, but they are indeed jammin' in that van...haha I really like the concept, and it seems so Bonnaroo.
Coin - StL
NEW GROUPIE. I have the picture to show it (attached below).
My new biffles:
Shoutout to Matt (in da green). And obviously Coin. VERIFY IT WITH THE VIDEO!

I may do more detailed posts on these bands in the future (though, let's be real, I've already blogged about half of these bands/artists). But in the meantime, this is just a lil snapshot of my musical journey. I'll make my foray through these bands soon enough...!
Enjoy!
